Dr. Markus Wiedemann
Dr. Markus Wiedemann was admitted to the Bar in April 2005 and started his career at a Stuttgart law firm that focuses on commercial and tax law.
Dr. Wiedemann joined JBB Rechtsanwälte in February 2006. He caters for clients both in and out of court, solving matters involving company law, copyright law and competition law, and drafting contracts and terms of business. He also provides advice on issues acquiring new relevance under insolvency law, in particular licenses and license agreements that are affected by financial crisis or insolvency.

Professional Training
In 1996, Markus Wiedemann started studying jurisprudence in Regensburg, where as spokesman for the university choir of which he was a member he became actively involved in matters involving copyrights and ancillary copyrights.
As a post-graduate Markus Wiedemann continued to study for his PhD in Regensburg under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Peter Gottwald. He devoted his thesis to “Licenses & License Agreements Affected by Insolvency”, which throws light on the point where intellectual property rights and insolvency law coincide. At the same time, Markus Wiedemann worked as an academic assistant at Prof. Dr. Gottwald’s faculty of civil law, international procedural law and insolvency law. As a trainee lawyer he chose to focus on commercial law and inter alia spent three months training in competition law and trademark law at Lovells LLP in Frankfurt.
