Fabian Scharpf has been working for JBB since 2019 as a lawyer admitted to the Bar in Berlin and mainly advises clients in data protection, telemedia and copyright law.
Fabian Scharpf advises companies from various industries on the legally compliant development and creation of websites, apps and other digital services. He regularly supervises the implementation of the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), compliance projects and legal communication with authorities and clients. Fabian Scharpf advises scientists and universities on all data protection issues arising in connection with research projects. Another focus of his work is consulting and training in the area-specific regulations for educational institutions.
Fabian Scharpf studied law at the University of Heidelberg and the Università di Bologna in Italy. In addition to his studies and his legal clerkship, he specialized in data protection consulting and worked for a Freiburg-based company in the development and implementation of data protection management and training concepts for educational institutions. He also participated as a speaker in a training course for internal data protection officers and employee training offered jointly with the HFU Academy of Furtwangen University.
His work at JBB began immediately after his studies as a research assistant, then as a trainee lawyer and continues today as a lawyer. He gained international and data protection-related experience in further stations of his legal clerkship in the Department for Data Protection Law of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and at the German Embassy of the Foreign Office in Rome. He completed his legal clerkship in Berlin in 2019 with the Second State Exam.
